I just came back home this morning. For me, every Chinese New Year celebration have always been typically the same. We eat A LOT! (when I mentioned the word, I really do mean it. I have became rather round lately. Fat is not exactly the appropriate word. Prosperous sounds more pleasant to the ear), We chit-chat a lot (There seems to be endless flow of conversations going on between the elderly and the younger generations), We visit a lot (Yes, we do a lot of visiting which consists of friends and relatives (Bai Nian) ), We count money 0_0 ( Don't tell me you don't *sticks out tongue. Ang pow have always been one of the things that I look forward to every single new year), We walk around the house and watch a lot of television (Why? Considering the fact that it does get boring repeating the same actions everyday--> Eat, sleep, chat, .......), lastly, it is the time for us to practice and appreciate our traditions, which our ancestors have passed down. I am proud to be a Chinese. It's my identity, my root, and it is something for me to hold on to. Despite those endless theories that Philosophers have came up with in explaining human beings (Something which will never be concluded), this is the way the world works. I have always thought of culture as something very beautiful. I feel comfortable with what I am.

Both Pontian and KL (It used to be Penang) have a very special place in my heart and I love visiting these places. My grandparents from both sides have always been our role models considering the fact that they are wise and incredibly kind people. Now let me tell you this, I'm both a 'kampung' and city kid. I grew up running and playing around the village in Pontian and the house at Bukit Mertajam, Penang. It was one of the dinner we had that night. Grandmother was telling me : "Jia ka pa pa. Jia je tam po. Ou zhou boh Ah Mah zho ae mi kia" It was touching alright. Ah mah was saying that I should eat more as I won't get to eat what she cooks at Australia.

haha I love them all:)

Anyway, we watched "The Wedding Game" at One Utama on the second day of new year at KL. Coincidently, Jeffery, Lily, Xuan and the rest of the Sia family was there right behind our seats. lol It was funny because we all met at another state. The movie shows a similar concept to the Korean drama "Full House". It was alright. Sweet, funny,..... etc.

Just came back to JB this morning. Had some highschool and college mates coming to my place in the afternoon. Thank you Jiajun (It was funny reminiscing on how we used to practice for our violin and piano duet. He did mention that the mango juice that I served him today was the same as what he had at my place two years ago:p), Rachel, Alvin, Sharveen, Shukveen, Sonia and of course Sze Jia (You stole the candies from my house) for coming today.

Since I'm leaving in two weeks time, I have got a lot of things to pack and buy. I'm currently saving money for a good Camera to capture those wonderful moments awaiting me at Australia. hehe.

I shall allow the pictures to elaborate more on my new year. Xing Nian Kuai Le everyone.

PS: A lot of the pictures are pretty unclear thanks to my lousy cellphone camera. lol
